Yes you can, and no there aren't any fees as far as I know.
Steak and steak
Yes they have
They have a decent sized parking lot and it is free to park. The room upstairs can accommodate large groups. I would call before you show so they can accommodate your needs.
They do, 5he best thing is always call a few days before to reserve the room.
Closed in August
Yes. They open at 11:30
You could always just call and ask
Open on Sundays
Was great ,now not so much once a go to place now explore other options
I was disappointed in how impersonal everything was. Food was ok, nothing to really complain about but was expensive and small portions. Ambiance was quite nice though.
The food is absolutely excellent. I have had several dinners there different choices from the menu all were prepared expertly. It is pricey but I think well worth it. The staff is very efficient and helpful. The appetizer of escargot as well as the clams in wine sauce are absolutely superb. They do not take reservations and dinner time gets very crowded.
Huge portions , recommend sharing. Authentic food , fresh seafood. Steaks are huge , definitely would recommend food. I would say the place could use more of a design update. I felt I was in a English pub . I give 4 stars definitely the food does the talking in this review.
Spanish restaurant with outstanding seafood and meat options. Portions are enormous, the meat is fall-off-the-bone tender, and the seafood is seasoned perfectly. The sangria is also delicious - perfect for a hot summer evening. I've been to Spain, and this is truly as authentic as it gets. Any meal you have here will be a treat, so come hungry!
Went for someone's birthday and I never been there before. I just also went to another Portuguese place tonight but honestly El Cid doesn't compare to The Portuguese Fisherman. El Cid just didn't have the it factor for me, and the quality wasn't as great as this other place.
Great North Jersey steak house. You can’t go wrong with any cut you choose. Never went home without a doggy bag! Highly recommend.
Scroll down for the latest review.Nov. 2018Everything was outstanding.Lobster tails sweet and tender.Rib Eye cooked to perfection and Huge...Garlic Shrimp and Garlic Spinach equally fantastic.May 18, 2019My third time visiting and totally pleased again...The Prime Rib cooked exactly as requested...Warm Pink Center.Karen was our waitress, and she was fantastic..The entire staff are happy to make your visit a pleasant one.Try the garlic shrimp and order the garlic spinach to compliment the prime rib.Huge quantities but you can share with another for a small fee.
the skirt steak and beef tips were fabulous, the best I have ever eaten
Went for my mother's 60th birthday dinner tonight and the food was scrumptious and delicious. I ordered the Surf and Turf and it was worth every last bite. I highly recommmend this place to others.
Great food and service. The sangria is always amazing. If you love prime rib, this is the place. Portions are large, you will never leave hungry. And will probably have enough left for lunch the next day.
I've been coming here for years and the food is always consistent. The staff is friendly and they know the ins and outs of the kitchen. We took a party of 8 and waited an hour for a table. But I know from going there so many years that you need to come early to wait on a table because they get so crowded. There's a bar to kill time. It was a great time, everyone loved their food. The plates are large and definitely great for a family or groups. Their blue cheese dressing is so good. It's homemade and never fails me. I got the ribeye, there were some paella's, mariscadas ordered. Everyone loved the flavor and portions. I suggest you go in advance since they don't take reservations.
Everything you want in a Spanish restaurant. Amazing food, amazing service, beautiful space. Get here early, it gets packed really quick! They also dont take reservations on certain days of the week, I think Fridays and Saturdays. Run, dont walk, to EL CID. You'll be glad you did.
Every New Year's Eve, my wife and I come to El Cid for surf and turf and the shrimp and garlic, it's always fantastic, we go to the bar and have a drink while we wait for our table, and every year find some nice people to talk to. The size of the dishes are huge, and we end up taking home half of it, and enjoy it the next day. I can tell you I have gone here for over 25 years and never had a bad meal!
Always enjoy the food here. Spanish sausage is so tasty. Typically get the filet mignon, which is huge. Highly recommend.
Expect the biggest food yotuve ever seen and great steaks. Pictured below is a medium rare prime rib.
Food was good. Portions were ridiculously large
We went on the recommendation of others, who had raved about the place. We felt the food was just average, the atmosphere was a bit cold, and it was expensive for the area.
The food and.service is just fantastic. We came down from Massachusetts to take my brother-in-law out for dinner on his birthday. We'll be back.
What a great place, the food was amazing garlic shrimp, stuffed scallops, escargot and a 64 ounce end cut, two of us shared the meal and there was enough end cut left to split and take home, service was quick, I loved this restaurant,I will be back. I suggest calling first on a weekend to reserve because dining area is small, you do have the option of eating at the bar
Even after so many years, El Cid is consistent and delivers huge steak and seafood portions with a Spanish flavor and delicious Sangrias. The 64oz prime rib is enough for two easily and their shrimp and lobster are delicious. We've been coming here for over three decades and it never changes.
I have never had a bad meal here. I have never had a disappointing pitcher of sangria (red) here. This is my favorite (high-end) steakhouse. If I could afford it, I'd be here every week.
I loved it. Generous Portions, Friendly Waiters . Wasnt rushed. Great Food and Atmosphere.
We had 16 people at our party, and the service was incredible! All the food came out faster than some places do serving only two people!! The staff was very attentive and friendly as well. Everything here is expensive, but you also get unholy portions, they're huge! The steak and veggies I had was very fresh and had amazing flavor, I was so impressed. The ribeye on their specials menu was $52 for example, but you also receive double the size of what most other places serve anyway, so the pricing kind of scales to portion size. I tried mussels, ribeye, filet mignon, veggies, and some lobster tail. Everything I tried was super fresh and flavorful, so I can definitely recommend those!!
Love this place! Best sangria I’ve ever had. The food and the service here compares to none. One of the top ten restaurants I have ever eaten at in my life.
Been going to El Cids for as long as I can remember, I use to be a prime rib guy then moved to surf and turf. Now I'm just surf. There food is always consistent. We've never had a bad meal. Also try their lemon spinach chicken so tender and to die for.
I think it's a great place for steak and seafood. It's more of a surf n' turf restaurant than seafood restaurant. It's a restaurant that might have been considered elegant in the 50's & 60's in a Tudor kind of style (oak beams in the ceiling, stucco walls). It has a strong following so get there before 6 on Fridays & Saturdays or be prepared to wait.
First off I typically don't eat red meat. Mostly a plant based diet for me but when the opportunity to have a killer cut of steak I'm all in. This place will not disappoint! Pictured here is the sliced prime rib over sauteed spinach and it was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. My wife however is a strict vegetarian so the meal next to mine is the vegetarian paella which is not on the menu but absolutely should be. Portions are more than a single human can eat in a single sitting and the sangria is amazing!
Great place for Spanish food. Definitely order the 64 oz steak. It's massive. The dessert is a nice touch too.
Huge portions of quality proteins prepared in a straightforward manner with mostly unforgettable sides (except the escarole and bean soup) served in a bustling semi formal dining room. No reservations or dress code, just bring your appetite and wallet. Awesome beef and seafood, highly recommended!
No other high end restaurant offers such decadent selections, by far the best anywhere! The consistency of the spectacular portions amazes me! I love El Cids, so does my entire family! The people who work there are the best I've ever met, they make our dining experience a delicious adventure! Try their red sangria, no others compare!
This restaurant was very nice, the service was great, we had the Garlic Shrimp as an appetizer and it was very good, probably about 20 shrimps. My wife and I both had Surf & Turf, huge piece of Filet Mignon and 2 Lobster Tails each. I believe the tails were about 6oz. each. Plenty of food to take home for leftovers. We ended the evening with a capachino which was also very good. A little bit pricey, but well worth it, we will be back for sure.
What a great place. A full 5 stars from the food to the service. This is a true top notch restaurant.
Delicious food. Classic Spanish cuisine and decor. The sangria was excellent. I had the scallops and shrimp in green sauce. It was excellent. My only negative comment is that the service was a bit slow.
Food was good however I asked for the salmon dry it was drenched in butter. The waiter appeared to be very confused. The appitzer of shrimp was swimming in oil and was tasteless. The flan was the best thing I had and it was amazing!!!!
This place is amazing ... food is great .. huge portions .. .. get the tira misu .. been here a bunch of times .. never been dissapointed.
Though the menu items may seem high, the portions are such that they easily serve two. Food and service were both excellent. I had a most excellent paella and the enormity of the prime rib was only surpassed by its tenderness. Eat and enjoy.
Always great food, never disappointed, garlic shrimp a must, scallops cooked PERFECT!
Recently visited with my sister & nephew. all 3 of us were like what happened?? This place used to b really good yrs ago. Not bad but not what it used to be.
I went with my wife to celebrate my birthday. I only ate half of my paella because I wanted to save room for flan and coffee. Enjoyed everything at the restaurant. Took the rest of my meal home only to find the half of lobster that they packaged was only the shell!!! I didn’t touch the lobster at the restaurant so they removed it before they packaged it for us. What a scam!! I really can’t believe they did that. I will make sure to spread the word. I paid them $160 and they stole the lobster. Argh!!!
Awesome food very nice place
Huge thick prime rib cooked to perfection. Very good food and service. Come hungry. The portions are big and you will always leave with tomorrow’s lunch. Great selection and friendly service.
Amazing food and atmosphere. On top of that parking was excellent!
We started with the garlic shrimp and I could die for the garlic and oil it was cooked in. OMG! So good. Cooked perfectly. Tasted delicious. Dinner for me was the sirloin steak. It was GINORMOUS and cooked to perfection. Taste was phenomenal! Served with veggies. We had rice and fresh chips on the side. The chips? 🤤 I couldn't stop eating them. My parents got the paella (said it was delicious) and the salmon (huge piece, great flavor). Took home tons of leftovers. Ordered dessert even though we were bursting at the seams. LOL! Cappuccino for all. Chocolate mousse in cake form for me. Chocolaty, smooth, creamy, yummmmmmm! Flan for dad (he loved it) and rice pudding for mom (said it was tasty). Staff was attentive and friendly. Owner is a doll! Super busy on a Friday night. We arrived at 5:30 with a reservation and got right in. By the time we left at 8, it was packed and there was a wait. Bar was hopping too! What a great place! Recommended!!!
Thank you Rosa! It's my second time here and it has been really great! The food and service have exceeded my expectations. Thank you EL CID for accommodating us in such overwhelming sucumstacis 😉
Refreshing to find so well prepared Spanish food - its very good. All the staff are Hispanic or Latino. Nice separate bar area. Nice art on walls, feels like stepping back into a Spanish castle. A little dated decor, but comfortable. Very big inside with 2 floors. Plenty of parking. Worth the visit for lunch or dinner. Note: they dont take reservations so plan ahead.
Portions were nice size. The food was incredible. Lobsters were great. The steak tips 👍 I bit on the pricy side but definitely worth the money.
The food is always wonderfully delicious! My favorites are the scallops and the prime rib but honestly, never heard anyone leave disappointed!
My wife, my buddy and I ate here last weekend. This place offers friendly service and genuinely delicious dining fare. Many thanks to the staff that took care of our dining needs: Sergio (waiter) very affable, Derek (busser) replaced our plates and utensils with a quick pace and Juan (head waiter) who's excellent recommendations and quirky humour kept us happy through the evening.Food here is fantastic to say the least. I had the Steak and Lobster tail, my wife had the Scallops and my friend, being vegetarian, ordered the Vegetable Paella. My Steak was juicy and just the way I like it, medium well, the lobster was succulent. My wife's Scallops tasted fresh and properly cooked, my friend's Paella was surprisingly appetizing.I would love and plan to come back and enjoy more of what they offer on their menu.
Very comfortable atmosphere, attentive staff and excellent food. Portions will last for days making it worth the price. Bring some carnivors and order prime rib, a sight to see.
